About this extension
Aegis Awareness evaluates passwords using an entropy-based algorithm to estimate unpredictability and shows this reading with a clear strength scale. The service checks if the password has been in past breaches(pwned) by using the Have I Been Pwned API to check the database anonymously utilizing HIBP / k-anonymity.
It additionally will estimate time taken to breach your password given being attacks by Online (throttled — 1000 attempts/day, Offline (single GPU — 1×10⁹ g/s), Large GPU cluster (1×10¹² g/s), and State/ASIC farm (1×10¹⁴ g/s). The code currently takes into these four attacks and dictionary attacks utilizing zxcvbn integration.
Simple to use and has a clipboard feature and dark mode for convenience.
